Dr. G. Mustafa Awan, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. G. Mustafa Awan, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is an interventional cardiologist from Mobile, Alabama. He performs minimally invasive procedures for advanced lower extremity peripheral arterial disease (PAD), lower extremity venous disease (deep venous thrombosis/venous insufficiency), and Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE). Dr. Awan is also experienced in treating patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), as well as pacemaker and Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) implantation.

He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiovascular disease at University Hospital, USA Health, Mobile, Alabama. He also completed an interventional cardiology fellowship and advanced endovascular training at Winthrop University Hospital, Long Island, NY.

Dr. Awan has served as Professor of Medicine, Director of the Cath Lab, and Director of Endovascular Interventions at University Hospital, USA Health, College of Medicine, in Mobile, Alabama and is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. He has published and presented original research at various national scientific meetings.

The majority of his professional time has been focused on the care of patients with limb, and life-threatening PAD, performing minimally invasive techniques that significantly reduces the risk of complications and greatly reduces recovery time after angioplasty, atherectomy, and stent procedures. He also performs Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE), a minimally invasive treatment for patients with osteoarthritis of the knees, who are suffering from debilitating pain and impaired quality of life.

In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, going to the gym, weight training, and spending time with his family.

Amy Parks, FNP-C

Amy is originally from New Orleans and moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2018. She has over 29 years of nursing experience. She obtained her Associate of Nursing from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 1994, Bachelor of Nursing in 2000, and Masters of Nursing from Loyola University New Orleans in 2009. She also holds a Masters of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from the University of New Orleans. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor’s Society, Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In 2019, Amy received the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses while working as a Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner at the University of South Alabama. Before finishing Nurse Practitioner graduate school, Amy worked as an RN mostly in the ICU and Cardiac Cath Lab settings for 15 years. She has been working as a Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner for the last 12 years.

Jeremy Smallwood

Director of Clinical Operations

Jeremy has been in the imaging community for over 21 years. He has served as an advanced practice provider (Registered Radiologist Assistant, Radiology Practitioner Assistant) as well as in leadership roles on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He enjoys his time with his family, enjoys golf, playing musical instruments, and listening to music.

Jeanne Catchot

Registered Vascular Specialist – Clinical Coordinator

Jeanne is a Registered Vascular Specialist. She attended the Cardiac and Vascular Institute of Ultrasound in Mobile, Alabama. Along with that, she cross-trained at the Institute of Ultrasound Diagnostics and earned her Associate’s Degree at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. She worked for over 6 years in the hospital setting doing vascular, OBGYN, and general ultrasounds. She brings forth expertise, an understanding of all aspects of the ultrasound process, and is committed to superior patient care. She is adept in performing measurements and calculations, and preparing reports for physicians. Jeanne is extremely focused and skilled in performing professional and in-depth diagnostic imaging procedures. She enjoys her patients and makes it her duty every day to help find a solution to their medical problems.

 Patricia “Pat” Mason

Intake Coordinator

Pat has worked in the medical field for over 20 years in various roles and loves assisting patients however she can. Although originally from Tennessee, she has no other desire to live anywhere else but on the Coast. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family as much as possible, especially her Grandkids.
